Cosmote Romania announces new retention offers for both postpaid and prepaid customers COSMOTE Romania enhances in 2011 the loyalty and rewarding programs for all customers segments by launching a unique, perfectly balanced package of propositions for both post-paid and prepaid customers The initiative comes in the spirit of the pace opened in 2005, when it surprised the telecom market and led to a revolution in the mobile telephony.

The new retention offers aim to improve communication costs of COSMOTE customers and deliver tailored packages of voice and data for the renewal of their contracts, plus other co-branded products.

“We entered the market with the aim of making mobile communication accessible to all Romanians. In order to keep this promise a reality, we are constantly designing special offers tailored for covering most complex communication needs of our customers, for the best value for money propositions. In this regard, we created a unique communication package for both existing or new postpaid and prepaid customers, meant to reward them for their loyalty and provide them with the best communication solutions”, said Michail Leousis, CRM & Commercial Planning Senior Manager, COSMOTE Romania.

On the postpaid segment, all COSMOTE existing residential customers have the possibility to optimize their package of services during the contract by changing their old rate plans with the new COSMOTE “Perfect pentru Tine” portfolio. Thus, they benefit from a generous offer of mobile voice calls and text messaging. In addition, our customers can enjoy one of the latest generation tariff plans, combining mobile data with voice and text messaging. This is the perfect solution for customers opting to benefit from their Smartphones and fully use the latest application these devices come with.


Promotionally, customers choosing to extend their contract for one of the tariff plans COSMOTE “Perfect pentru Tine” or the ones suitable for Smart Phones are rewarded with double or unlimited minutes and SMSes on net. This special offer for telecom services is completed with additional incentives for the customers extending their contract with COSMOTE: handset or accessories at special prices for customers interested in new phones or additional off-net and international minutes for the ones looking to increase the traffic volume, that can be used within the same monthly fee.

For the customers that are in the situation to optimize the spending with telecom services rather then to look for a new handset or increased volume, COSMOTE offers them discounts on the monthly fee – 7 months discounted for a 12-month contract extension or 14 months discounted for a 24-month contract extension.

Broadband internet users segment also enjoys loyalty incentive programs consisting in special offers with increased traffic volumes or special discounts for modems and accessories for contract renewal.

Besides the dedicated propositions for telecom services, COSMOTE recently launched a co-branded fidelity credit card in partnership with Alpha Bank and Master Card. Customers that are using COSMOTE Alpha MasterCard credit card are granted 3% discount for purchases of handsets and accessories in COSMOTE stores and a 3% reduction for the invoices paid with the card in COSMOTE stores or through direct debit service attached to the card. Moreover, for all the purchases made with COSMOTE Alpha MasterCard credit card in other stores than COSMOTE, the customers will receive from Alpha Bank 1% of each transaction value. All these loyalty benefits will be displayed on the customers’ COSMOTE services invoices, reducing their value correspondingly.

The business segment is addressed in a tailored fashion, with personalized offers upon contract renewal, customized to the evolution of the communication needs of the customers (dedicated business services both discounts on services invoices and special offer to handsets). Moreover, the MVPN application is a perfect tool for controlling the communication costs by contract owners themselves.

COSMOTE has been focusing also in building loyalty among its prepaid customers and differentiated itself right from the beginning through offering the promotional extra options to all its existing customers and not only to the ones activating new prepaid SIM cards.

The portfolio of extra options is diverse and the prepaid customers have the liberty to select the extra options best fitting their needs and monthly budget. The prices for extra options start from only 1 euro with My Style, that grant customers 1 cent for on net communication (calls, SMS or MMS) and only 9 cents for communication through calls, SMS or MMS towards other national networks.

In addition, for customers who prefer packages with multiple benefits at a fixed monthly price, COSMOTE offers them the possibility to change their current offer with the recent promotional extra option that includes the most wide range of telecom services on the market: 3000 on-net minutes for voice and video calls, 3000 minutes towards Romtelecom fixed network, 3000 SMS or MMS in COSMOTE, 75 national and international minutes and 75 national SMS. Moreover, COSMOTE rewards the customers that will continue to reactivate this offer by decreasing the price from 6 euro credit for the first activation to 5 euro credit/month starting with the 2nd activation onward.

Customers that face sudden increase in consumption or just need marginal increase of the benefits included in their extra options have also the possibility to add more benefits to their extra options with only 1, 2 or 3 euro credit by activating one of COSMOTE’ s on top options, depending on the extra volume they need.

COSMOTE has also dedicated propositions of 1 month credit extension for customers that did not recharge in the latest period. In addition, these customers may benefit from monthly, weekly or daily offers for customers without active extra options aiming to encourage communication and usage of COSMOTE services at affordable rates.

Besides campaigns and offers addressed specifically to prepaid or postpaid customers, COSMOTE developed relevant programs across the entire customer base by extending the possibility to use the on-net minutes that can be used promotionally also for video calls and for voice calls towards Romtelecom network.

The current packages offered by COSMOTE Romania to its loyal customers are communicated through various ways of communication. For example, at the acquisition of the service, the post-paid customers are announced via their invoices sent at the addresses mentioned in the contracts, while the prepaid users are announced via SMS.
